Every year, one or two costumes rise above the rest. In 2022, it was Stranger Things. In 2023, Barbie pink dominated. Last year, Wednesday Addams ruled the dance floor (and she's back).
So what’s next?
For Halloween 2025, pop culture has already spoken. Expect Taylor Swift’s glittering showgirl, K-Pop Demon Hunter-core, and even a nod to Justin Bieber’s public breakdown. Add in Broadway witches, glam gore, and fresh horror remakes, and you’ve got a costume lineup that’s going to take over TikTok, bar crawls, and beyond.
Taylor’s Life of a Showgirl visuals have lit up fashion feeds. Think rhinestone bras, feathered headdresses, and Portofino-orange glitter accents. This one has all the makings of 2025’s “it” costume: instantly recognizable, sparkly, and TikTok-ready.
DIY Tip: Grab a rhinestone bra, nude fishnets, and a feather fan. Layer on face glitter and orange statement earrings.
Shop the look:
Netflix’s K-Pop Demon Hunters smashed into fandom culture, and official costume collabs are already on sale. Expect full squads to roll into Halloween weekend as glamorous monster-slayers.
Style Notes: Pair streetwear-inspired pieces (cargo pants, neon jackets) with fantasy accessories (horns, faux swords, smoky purple makeup). Bonus points if your group choreographs a dance for the bar crawl.
Shop the look:
Festival glitter gels (UV/iridescent)
Holographic/rhinestone festival bras
The “Bieber breakdown” look plays off Justin’s paparazzi-plagued, hoodie-draped, post-concert moments. It’s funny, low-effort, and fits the “party-but-messy” energy Halloween thrives on.
DIY Tip: Oversized hoodie, fake mic, bandages, sunglasses, and messy hair. Add paparazzi flashes on a phone screen for extra comedy.
Shop the look:
Classic slashers never die, but 2025 is giving them a glow-up. Freddy Krueger in sequins, Art the Clown with neon splatter, Jason Voorhees in metallics. Show off some creativity with these remakes of remakes.
DIY Tip: Buy a standard costume, then hack it: swap masks for metallic versions, add LEDs, or stitch sequins into the outfit.
Shop the look:
Adult Art the Clown (Terrifier)
With Wicked: For Good hitting the headlines, witches are stepping out in haute couture this Halloween. Think elegant black gowns, structured capes, and shimmering green makeup.
DIY Tip: Upgrade a classic witch dress with LED accessories or metallic fabrics. Swap out the pointy hat for a jewel-studded crown.
Shop the Look:
According to Spirit Halloween’s forecast, “Pink-O-Ween” is the year’s aesthetic: pastel gore. Expect pink blood splatters, glitter horns, and bubblegum-meets-nightmare mashups.
DIY Tip: Start with a pastel dress, splatter it with red paint tinted with glitter, and add rhinestone fangs or tiaras.
Shop the Look:
Chappell Roan’s viral “Pink Pony Club” moment is riding high in 2025, and couples are jumping on the glitter rodeo. Expect matching cowboy hats, pink fringe, and rhinestone boots — a playful, gender-bent duet look for Halloween night.
DIY Tip: Thrift pink cowboy hats and hot-glue rhinestones. Add iron-on pink fringe to a jacket or skirt, glitter a bandana, and finish with sparkly boots or boot covers.
Shop the Look:
The NFL-meets-pop-princess combo is a no-brainer for couples this year. One partner rocks a Chiefs jersey, the other dazzles in Swift-inspired showgirl glam. Add a mock engagement ring or prop mic to make the costume instantly recognizable.
DIY Tip: Chiefs vibe on a budget: red tee with taped “87,” white athletic pants, eye black. For Taylor, a rhinestone bra over nude fishnets plus a feather fan. Fake ring from a jumbo craft gem; mic = painted toy or hairbrush.
Shop the Look:
With season two of Wednesday dropping, Addams Family looks are set to surge again. Expect groups to show up as the full cast: Wednesday in gothic glam, Enid in pastel werewolf mode, Uncle Fester for the guys, and Morticia and Gomez as the ultimate couple’s pick.
DIY Tip: Wednesday: black dress with a white collar cut from an old shirt. Enid: pastel cardigan and press-on “claws.” Fester: bald cap and dark coat. Morticia: long black dress; Gomez: pinstripes and a stick-on mustache.
Shop the Look:
Whether you’re rocking Taylor Swift sparkle, slaying as a K-Pop demon hunter, or embracing Bieber-chaos, the city streets will double as your runway.
